I have a 2005 yukon xl 5.3L. The temp top top the dash reads normal yet according to mine scan tool the TOT temp is reading at -40f. Native what I check out there room 2 sensors. I know where the one because that the temp gauge is top top the driver;s side of the block close to the front. Go anyone know where the second one is located? Thanks.
Usually one is by the top radiator hose outlet ~ above the engine, at the very least for many of the GM engines I"ve looked up details on. It is also possible that over there is one in a mirrored location from the driver side one on the happen side. On mine 5.7 there is one close to the header on the driver side and also one the pass side in around the same ar there is a clogged off port that would"ve been offered for aux fan temp.

Pikey, try your scan tool on an additional truck, it just could be the end of calibration. One ohm meter on the temp sensor is a sure thing.
