After doing my oil pan gasket over the weekend. I filled it up v oil and it took like 9 quarts to fill all the way. I've readjusted the oil before and also was always about 9 quarts. Spring up virtual every short article I read says 6 quarts. Couldn't uncover anything about these trucks acquisition that much oil. Execute I have a difficulty with my van you think???

I simply can't see how anything would interfere with oil flow from the fill ar on the valve cover to the pan uneven someone opened up it increase in the past and also plugged the oil return feet in the intake sink which would certainly be a an extremely odd change for simply a continual truck engine. Even if that were done, v the engine off, after ~ a few minutes every the oil would flow to the pan anyways and also you should obtain a reading on the stick.

The just other point I have the right to think of is the dipstick pipe was possibly replaced somewhere along the line v the wrong one. Ns think ns recall reading somewhere the the original dip rod tube might crack, and you possibly have a instead of tube the is as well long.

Well I'm going to let the truck sit every day. Let everything oil have time to drain down and recheck the level to check out if it's high. I could even see around checking out my dads 04 to see if his van has any kind of noticeable differences.

If you had that major of a restriction the it would reason oil come take hrs instead of seconds to go back to the oil pan friend would have fried your 6.0 long back as the point with that sort of restriction would starve because that oil in ~ seconds, it would certainly for sure die a quick fatality when steering at greater engine RPM's. I'm betting there space no problems other 보다 a dipstick tube that was replaced with the dorn one. The or the tube has somehow been dislodged and is not thrust in all the means which would additionally give friend false (very low) oil level readings.

Ok just took my dipstick tube out. And something is definitely off. #1 the bolt holding the on is absolutely not original considering that is a 14mm hex head, so it's been taken off before. And the area approximately the oring is dirty as hell. I'm reasoning it wasn't in all the way.

Yep resolved now!! Lmao!! had actually to bend the pipe to gain it to get in the block all the way. Oil level mirroring super high now. Ns think I'm going to see around getting an additional dipstick tube though. Due to the fact that now I have a heck of a time difficult the dipstick back in.
