A couple of weeks ago, engine light come on; I needed to change the camer sensor, which i did.

You are watching: 2001 ford focus cranks but wont start

Days afterwards Halloween, ns took it to work and wouldn't start afterwards.

~ Crankshaft sensor was replaced; tho nothing.

~ nobody of the fuses are broken.

~ The battery is still reasonably new; the car wouldn't start when jumped.

~ the has sufficient oil.

When make the efforts to start it, a little kick might be heard from under the drivers seat.

What i heard is the it could be either: time belt, EGR valve, spark plugs, or a electric short.

Any ideas?

I would certainly pull the plugs; clean and check gaps. 0.050" is the gap for Zetec, 0.054" for SPI.

Check resistances on your wires. I believe they have to be in the 3-10kohm range.

The fuel pump might be obtaining weak. That's the first thing I'd examine at this point. If your starter sounds strong and you're obtaining spark, the absent ingredient would certainly be fuel. This could also explain why it would seem weak going up hills. It might be just hanging in there, enough for it to remain running, however the extra stress, overload is too lot for it to handle.

I would acquire a scan tool and also check the fuel pressure. When my pump went it would certainly starve because that fuel under 1/4 of a tank under hefty throttle. A couple times the started however would die and then it would take a couple key cycles to get it walking again. If no that, inspect the coil pack.
