Hello all. We received a package from 13550 Independence Parkway Fort Worth, Texas

I googled the address and it seems like people receive packages from here unexpectedly sometimes - one post even mentioning someone calling them about iphones in the box.

You are watching: 13550 independence parkway at&t

We didn't order anything and aren't expecting anything from this address. Could this be a scam? We're nervous to open the box. What are the next steps you would take?

*

It's a logistics company which handles electronics for some carriers. i.e. like a warehousing and shipping center for hire.

Open it. It maybe a scammed phone and someone was hoping to pinch it from your doorstep.

Let us know ..

Oh interesting. I just looked it up. That could be it. We're sort of paranoid...going down dark paths of anthrax or fentanyl poisioning lol.

Now I'm curious what's in the box. What's in the boxxx!

The three big possibilities:

Simple brushing scam to game e-commerce sites.

Scammer orders something with stolen funds, attempts to porch pirate it and failed.

Scammer sends you a package so they have proof of delivery they then use to scam somebody else nearby who ordered something expensive. Paypal sides with the merchant because look... delivery receipt.

Open it and lets find out.

AT&T Is apparently sending people free phones because 3G is going away. I just got a Note9 for free with literally no action from myself to replace one of my kids' phones (a OnePlus One).

I'm with you regarding the sketchy-ness.

AT&T sent me a refurbished Galaxy Note 9 that I did not order. There's no mention of it anywhere in my account except in a single order confirmation. I spent over an hour with support, and they cannot tell me who/when/why this was ordered besides citing this article:

The other sources I could find on the subject all state that AT&T will be sending a 2019 AT&T Radiant Core worth ~$70, and not a Galaxy Note9 worth ~$240

I own a business that deals with cybersecurity, and I'm in the military (guard), so I'm still not comfortable turning it on anywhere near my home/business networks.

Very strange. I simple notification that something was coming your way - and properly trained support staff could reduce some of that confusion.

I received multiple automated texts about upgrading my phone due to the 3g sunset. I recieved a text about 2 months ago that they were sending a phone and to expect it within 30 days. Called customer support and they told me it was legit and they had indeed sent me a phone.

No. Too paranoid for that. Just brought it back and said I didn't order this.
